It is now possible to discount promissory notes in Madrid more efficiently through our new branch. Workcapital SA’s national expansion is unstoppable.

Madrid has now joined the list of branch offices operated by the company, which specializes in providing financing to SMEs and the self-employed through promissory note discounting and factoring.

The Madrid branch joins those already open in Andalusia and Catalonia, further confirming Workcapital SA’s rapid expansion in the national promissory note discounting and factoring market.

A few days ago, the company expanded into what is undoubtedly the epicenter of the national economy: Madrid and the Community of Madrid. And it couldn’t have done so in better company.

Federico Salgado is Workcapital’s regional manager not only for Madrid and its province but also for the neighboring provinces.

Federico Salgado, Madrid Representative
Federico Salgado: Industry Expert

Federico Salgado Pérez is from Madrid, where he was born in 1961. Here’s how he describes his professional career before joining Workcapital SA:

I spent most of my professional life at Multigestión Iberia, where I worked until this year.

I’ve done a little bit of everything at that company: I’ve been a portfolio manager, participated in portfolio acquisitions, opened offices, and—which is relevant to us now—I worked in promissory note discounting from 1999 to 2014 at Corfisa.

Salgado explains how he came to contact Workcapital SA:

“I found them online. I saw it on LinkedIn in an article where I read that they were looking for partners. So I decided to reach out. The next day, I got a call from the CEO, Juan Carlos Grau, and we decided to meet in Madrid—and now we’re working together.”

Federico brings experience and a lot of motivation

Now that his hiring is official, it’s time to get to work. Salgado believes he can:

“Bring experience and a lot of motivation, and hopefully all of this will lead us to attract many clients, benefiting both the company and the clients themselves, who can benefit from our services.”

Regarding the company, based on his time working with it, he says:

“The truth is that Workcapital SA’s staff is its greatest asset because it has a very young and dynamic team capable of accomplishing a great deal. Plus, I see that there’s a very positive atmosphere, which will make our work easier for everyone. “When you spend many hours together in a positive atmosphere, you do things with more care, and that always benefits the client—which is what matters most.”

If you establish yourself in Madrid, you’ve established yourself in the national market

Regarding his geographic scope, he notes:

“I live in Madrid and can cover the entire province, but opportunities will surely arise to provide financing to SMEs and the self-employed in neighboring provinces such as Segovia, Ávila, Toledo, Guadalajara, and the other provinces in the two Castiles.”

But his real focus will be on the capital and its surrounding areas, where a large part of Spain’s business community is concentrated:

“Breaking into Madrid is a step forward for any company because it’s the capital and there’s a lot of economic activity. If you establish yourself in Madrid, you’ve established yourself in the national market.”

“I hope that with my help, we can break into a market that won’t be easy at all. There’s a lot of competition, and it’s a very large market. I expect full support from Workcapital SA because we can bring a very large project to life, and if we do it right, it can give the company a significant boost.”

It’s a good project, especially for customers

Regarding the markets he wants to focus on, he explains:

“I think we shouldn’t close any doors and should explore any industry, but it’s clear that we should look at the construction sector, which is now picking up steam, or the food industry.”

“Although if I knew for sure, I wouldn’t make mistakes, but I think we have to test the waters a bit to see which sector we can focus on more.”

And he describes himself this way:

“I’m a very determined person who knows what I want. I’m not here to mess around; I want to make this a success because it’s a good project for me, and I’m convinced it will turn out well and be beneficial for the company, for me, and above all for our customers.”

“It’s a good time because the economy is improving, and I believe the political situation will stabilize and that everything will work out.”
